People opposed to parental rights will say things like, “if parent’s are involved it will cause children to get back alley abortions.” The fact is there is no such thing as “back alley abortions” and there haven’t been for years, those are scare tactics and not grounded in logic or reality.
Conversely, there is nothing anyone can do that will prevent mentally unstable people from resorting to gruesome actions, which while are beyond unfortunate we can not allow the actions of the mentally unstable strip law abiding people of their parental rights.
The truth is parents need to be involved because the places that pose the greatest threat to children are facilities that are licensed by the state.

People that give parental consent to their children to have sex can best decide if they want to give parental consent for abortions for any number of reason based on that families values, beliefs and structure which will prevent their children from falling victim to licensed facilities such as this.
Since the abortion industry is trying to make the case that abortion is “health care” lawmakers in Texas are requiring abortion facilities to adhere to the same licensing standards as real health care facilities.

The dangers to our children don’t come from “back alley abortions”, the dangers to our children come from state licensed facilities and not including the parents.
For this reason we must restore peoples parental rights in this matter.
1. Since underage children need parental consent to have sex they need parental consent to have abortions.
2. There is an age of consent law for sex but not for abortion which creates a loophole for sexual abuse and assault to take place and not be reported. We will close that loophole.
3. This will not restrict access to birth control or a woman’s right to choose, it will restore law abiding Mainer’s parental rights.
